Last week received a fine Merry Christmas Letter from my job. The gist being; We are closing the doors for three weeks and when you return you may be “Separated from Employment”. Had to laugh when I heard that. The world wide economic downturn has directly affected the company as it has a lot of companies. Guess the best thing about the worldwide economic woe is that my wife and I don’t feel alone anymore. Being how we have been in an economic downturn for sometime. We almost feel like experts. When we talk to people we feel like we may have advice that could help people. My wife pointed out a good thing; when talking to bill collectors, “Well the economic downturn has directly affected my job and I simply don’t have the money to pay the bill.”, the bill collector seems more human in the answer, “Oh I understand, everybody is feeling it.”
It seems as though we have been down when the rest of the world is up. Now am feeling like while the rest of the world is down that we are going to be up. Am putting that thought out there. That we are going to do better economically now than ever before. Then we can help others pull themselves from the doldrums.
